The town also benefits from a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, serving all your self-catering requirements, while Coquet Island makes a wonderful day out with a difference; an RSPB reserve home to puffins, eider ducks and more, as well as offering boat trips around the island for a truly memorable experience, it's well-worth exploring. Venture to the nearby coastal village of Alnmouth and Craster, both boasting their own wonders as well as even more beautiful beaches, they make a charming day trip if you're looking for an idyllic escape for the day.
