The historic market town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away where you can explore the Alnwick Gardens and the famous castle used in the Harry Potter films, or spend time browsing in Barter Books bookstore, created within the former Alnwick Rail Station.
Heading east is the beautiful Heritage Coastline, miles of unspoilt beaches, castles, seaside towns, boat trips, and of course fish and chips! Head inland to Kielder Water for the highly acclaimed Northumberland International Dark Sky Park and Kielder Observatory, osprey watching on the reservoir or see the wildlife abound along woodland and country trails.
