Top Croft is found in the heart of the picture-perfect coastal village of Beadnell and lies adjacent to an inlet of water, attracting swans and an abundance of birdlife. The wide expanse of golden sandy beach Beadnell Bay is renowned for, is a short 2-minute stroll away and a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. A small sandy bay speckled with rocky outcrops is close by and leads to a long sandy beach that stretches to Seahouses, 2 miles north.
Beadnell is a popular all year round holiday destination and offers local facilities including a well-stocked village shop and family friendly pubs serving good food, all within a gentle stroll. Just 2 miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips around the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, departing regularly from its harbour. Here there are also several charming tea rooms, quaint pubs and shops, with horse riding, fishing and golf on the links close by.
A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, which lies snuggled in the shadow of its majestic fortress, with beautiful beach walks and a picture postcard village centre with quaint tea rooms and galleries. Holy Island, ‘the birthplace of Christianity’, and site of Lindisfarne Castle, can be seen from the unspoilt golden, sandy beach. Just a few miles inland is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts). Visitors will enjoy a trip to Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including the Grand Cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Longstone Park is a great place from which to explore, with the whole of Northumberland within easy reach.

Nice flat but there are a few areas that let it down. Firstly the downstairs lighting is so annoying going on and off whilst drying our dog, ideally could do with some sharp knives in the kitchen annoying when prepping food. Couldn't get the hang of the heaters in some of the rooms. Finally the outside space is needing a good overhaul not a nice area to sit, and some outside lighting is required pitch black at night when going to the bins. Saying all that ,nice wee bolthole as a base.

Definitely the best little place we stayed in on our trip up the NE coast. Bright spacious first floor apartment made living really easy, lovely kitchen very well equipped. Secure dog proof back garden a huge bonus.Easy walking to beach, bus stop, shop and pub.Highly recommendWould love to come back

Adequate. We liked Beadnell area. The courtyard area both front and back looked tired and unattended. On arrival, some of the carpet was slightly damp.. The video player was not set up for use. The stash of information leaflets etc needed a good sort out. We got stuck in the bedroom, after fully closing the door. The handle got stuck. Fortunately we were saved by having a large nail file and not fully shutting the door. The pillows were flat and quite hard. Kitchen facilities were very good except we never found the dishwasher which we were instructed to keep clean.
