Guests found the accommodation clean and tidy, but one noted cleaning equipment left out upon arrival, suggesting a lapse in attention to detail. Overall, the property maintains a good standard of cleanliness.

The cottage is praised for its beautiful setting by a lake, abundant bird life, and proximity to the beach and harbour. The location is ideal for a peaceful retreat and is within walking distance of local attractions.

The comfort of the beds is consistently highlighted, contributing to a restful break. However, some guests experienced issues with the conservatory being cold and the electric shower not being hot enough.

Two miles along the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly from its harbour. Horse riding, fishing and golf on the links close by are all available in this popular location. There is a good choice of places to eat, shops and pubs within Seahouses too. A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picture perfect village of Bamburgh, where Holy Island, the birthplace of Christianity in the UK and site of Lindisfarne Castle, can be seen from the unspoilt golden, sandy beach.

Lovely home with peaceful surroundings, just what we were looking for. The bed was so comfortable, and the softest of towels. Everything within walking distance. A great week was had by all. Thank you.

The accommodation was very clean and tidy. The conservatory was very comfortable but cold in the evening due to the fact the heater wasn’t working. The worktop space is very limited in the kitchen when preparing food. The electric shower was not hot enough and the immersion heater is very basic and annoying waiting for the water to heat up. It takes longer to heat than the stated 15 minutes. The bedrooms are modern and tidy. We enjoyed our week and we would return in the future

This cottage is located in a beautiful setting with lots of bird life to watch on the lake. Only a short pleasant walk to the beach and harbour with lots of green space around. The bed was very comfortable which is essential for anyone with back problems. Well equipped with lots of mugs so don’t have to keep washing up. A stair gate would be really useful to stop the dog trying to go upstairs. Whilst my dog never goes upstairs at home he found these particularly fascinating. It was not great on opening the front door on arrival was to see all the cleaning equipment hoover, steam mop etc dumped on the floor almost under the stairs. This did not give a great first impression and according to your laminated A-Z information sheet - great idea by the way - these should have been in the bathroom cupboard. This just demonstrated a lack of care had been taken with the cleaning. With very little effort this cottage could go from good to excellent but I would still recommend.
