Gullsway is a well-located cottage praised for its spaciousness, comfortable bedding, and proximity to the beach and local amenities. The property has received positive remarks for its scenic location and well-equipped kitchen. Some guests noted areas for improvement, but the overall experience is seen as good value for money.
The property has received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found it clean, while others noted issues like grubby chairs, stained mattress protectors, and a musty smell. The property seems to be undergoing improvements, but a deeper clean is suggested.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, local shops, and eateries. Guests appreciate the scenic walks and the peaceful environment, making it an ideal spot for a holiday retreat.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy, especially with the heating on. However, some guests mentioned issues with mattresses and fixtures that could enhance the comfort level with attention.

Beadnell is a popular holiday destination and offers local facilities including a well-stocked village shop and family friendly pubs serving good food all within a gentle stroll from Gullsway. This is a popular destination for water-sports enthusiasts, including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. Two miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands – famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony – depart regularly from its harbour. Here there are several charming tea rooms, quaint pubs and shops with horse-riding, fishing and golf on the links close by, this being only a sample of the many amenities available in this popular location. A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, which lies snuggled in the shadow of its majestic fortress and commands the power and presence of the seasoned television set it regularly becomes. Holy Island – known as the birthplace of Christianity, and is the site of Lindisfarne Castle, can be seen from the unspoilt golden, sandy beach. Just a few miles inland is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Academy). One to forget. Good location. Raw sewerage on drive and back garden, having to inform property agents who sent a colleague to rod the block drains so there was even more raw sewerage on property, not having a hose pipe or bucket and required to use the kitchen tap and washing bowl to sluice down the mes (obviously walking the sewerage into the kitchen for each trip). The back door did not lock on the catch thus leaving a gap which let the smell back into house when the wind blows (also, any heat in the kitchen is lost due to the door). Property needs a deep clean in all areas, however, mattres, sheets and towels were brand new and comfortable.

We’ve stayed in lots of Beadnell properties and decided this time to try somewhere outside of the newer estate. Having read some mixed reviews, we were a little sceptical but echo what recent reviewers have said. The location is great — we discovered the lovely little beach just across the road, and there’s also a scenic alternative walk to the main bay via the church and cow field. The bungalow itself is more spacious than the photos suggest, particularly the lounge which felt much larger in person. Beds and bedding were comfortable, and the shower and water pressure were excellent. It’s clear that feedback is being listened to — the bathroom looks newly refurbished, and during our stay, someone came out to fit a new toilet seat, fix a blind, and repair the garden chairs. Doors and windows were all clean and working fine. However, there are still a few areas that would benefit from some extra TLC. The dining room chairs were grubby, with ripped fabric and crumbs present on arrival (not caused by us). A deep clean wouldn’t go amiss — we noticed a stained mattress protector in the front room and a musty smell from some of the towels and furnishings, which did take the edge off the overall experience.A full-length mirror would also have been a welcome addition — small touches like this can make a big difference when you're staying away from home and looking for a little extra quality. These may seem like minor things, but with such strong competition in the area, they’re the kind of details that help a property stand out.In summary: a well-located, spacious property with good basics in place, but a bit more attention to detail could really elevate the overall stay.
