A former schoolhouse, the cottage has undergone total refurbishment and is tastefully furnished and well equipped throughout. The lounge/diner is stylish and spacious, and the accommodation has the convenience of being all at ground floor level. The bathroom has been replaced in 2025 and now offers modern fittings and new shower.
Fallodon Burnhouses enjoys a rural setting, and the generous garden to the rear includes an acre of private woodland, which leads to a shallow, unfenced burn (children must not be left unsupervised). The surrounding rural views are idyllic and from the rear of the cottage look towards glamorous Doxford Hall, with its luxurious spa facilities and restaurant celebrated for its excellent cuisine, half a mile away.

Plenty of space and good grounds. The large table was useful and the beds and bedding very comfortable.All on one floor but the entrance steps and internal changes of level do affect accessibility. The addition of grab bars in the bathroom and at the back door would help. The cottage is located a short drive from the coast and food shops but also in the midst of the countryside. We will be recommending this to friends.

We had a lovely stay, the cottage is really nice and the beds are really comfortable.There is plenty of equipment, its absolutely lovely.The only thing is I'd recommend reversing on the driveway as can be a bit difficult to get off and car do come by a bit quick.Other than that absolutely perfect
