Guests say

Pegasus Cottage is praised for its fantastic location, home comforts, and tasteful decoration. Guests appreciate the dog-friendly policy, parking availability, and the idyllic harbour views. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the welcoming touches and the cottage's cosiness are well-regarded. The property serves as a good base for exploring Northumberland.

Cleanliness feedback is mixed. Some guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, while others noted issues with smells, unclean kitchen items, and a used facemask. Recent comments suggest improvements have been made.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the harbour, local pub, and seaside walks. It is considered an ideal base for exploring the area, contributing to a positive experience.

The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. However, some guests noted issues with a bed and the shower, slightly impacting the comfort score.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and extra bathroom. However, there are reports of missing items, broken fixtures, and a need for updates, indicating room for improvement.

Guests mention a welcome pack and other amenities, which are appreciated. However, it is noted that some expected items like logs for the fire were not always provided, and while gifts are mentioned, they should not be expected as guaranteed.

Excellent, surprisingly quiet location with a bus stop yards away. Well decorated and plenty of space. It was very pleasant to sit on the balcony overlooking the lovely harbour. Well equipped, for instance in the kitchen and with a large fridge/freezer. All the bedrooms had comfortable beds. The owners helpfully provided extra equipment for twin babies. Excellent cleanliness. Hot water always available even though we were a large party. More accessible information on the heating would have been helpful in the unseasonably cold summer we are having. Very generous welcome pack of snacks, cordials etc.

The cottage is in an ideal location. It is opposite the small harbour. Close to the pub and seaside walks. The three parking spaces were ideal. The accommodation is spacious, the bedrooms were ideal with the luxury of an extra bathroom. The kitchen was well laid out with plenty of storage space in the two fridges. The welcome pack went down very well. All in all, very good value for money and an ideal location. I would definitely stay there again.

Firstly, the parking information from OC needs to be updated. Someone commented on this in Oct 2022 and it’s still hasn’t been done. If OC gave out the info that’s in the information guide in the cottage, neighbours wouldn’t be disturbed by guests arriving and trying to understand where they can and cannot park. OC are great at keeping you informed and it’s a shame that this hasn’t been sorted out. The cottage is warm and very comfortable. The welcome pack of goodies and the kitchen / bathroom packs are a nice touch. The one log in the basket by the fire hardly constitutes as a basket of logs and there wasn’t any kindling so we had to use the papers that were left. We had seen comments re this prior to our holiday so took logs etc with us. There wasn’t an oven glove which made pulling stuff out of the oven a bit dangerous but the rest of the kitchen equipment was good. Nice to have some nice sharp knives for a change in a holiday let. Overall the cottage was clean, this has obviously been rectified after recent comments made by guests. Some TLC required downstairs. The location is great. We know the area very well so know that there’s not much in Craster apart from The Jolly Fisherman, which is fantastic and Robsons Smokehouse. As long as you know that beforehand you can ensure you have all you need with you. It’s a fantastic base for coastal and country walks and visiting other places up and down the Northumbrian Coast. I’d say this property is great for 4 people (adults) but any more, unless they were children you might struggle a bit with bathroom facilities. Overall we had a great week and we enjoyed our stay at Pegasus Cottage, would we return….probably not as there are so many other properties to choose from.
