As well as walkers, and families who come to enjoy the sand and rockpools exposed at low tide, the area is also popular for birdwatching, fossil hunting, surfing and body boarding, The Lindisfarne Nature Reserve and Heritage coast is close by, with miles of golden sandy beaches.
