About this property

Centrally located in the village of Norham is this charming cottage, 46 Castle Street. This two-bedroom cottage in Northumberland is ideal for families or couples looking for a relaxing break away. This stone-built cottage has a contemporary country interior, and an enclosed garden with furniture and a barbeque. You can leave your vehicle in a roadside space before entering the hallway, where you can kick off your shoes before exploring your home away from home. The sitting room is furnished with two plush sofas, a smart TV, and a rug and has a multi-fuel stove to keep you warm on chilly evenings. Stepping through the property, locate the kitchen/diner, well-equipped with essential appliances, including an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a dining area with seating for four. From here, french doors lead outside to the gravelled garden, so why not sip a cold beverage on the furniture to soak up the rays? As day draws to night, retire inside, and climb upstairs, where a first-floor bathroom offers a freestanding bath to relax your muscles and a walk-in shower for a rinse. One well-presented king-size bedroom and a further double await, with cream furniture to house your belongings and bedside lamps so you can escape into a book. The quaint village of Norham hosts traditional pubs for a refreshing pint, an award winning butchers, bakers and a convenience store to grab any of the essentials. Unveil the past at Norham Castle, which overlooks the River Tweed or venture into Berwick-upon-Tweed, home to Berwick Boat Trips, Berwick-upon-Tweed Castle and Ramparts and take a walk along the Northumberland coastline․ This property also has great easy access to the Scottish borders. Visit the ancient town of Alnwick, where you can tour Alnwick Castle, The Alnwick Garden, and Bailiffgate Museum. For a memorable getaway to Northumberland, choose 46 Castle Street.

Turner painted Norham's Norman Castle ruins overlooking the Tweed in 1845. The community has a butcher, bakery, Post Office, grocer, newsagent, two pubs, and an award-winning restaurant in neighbouring Swinton. The Cross Inn in Paxton and two good eateries in Allanton are also close. Berwick-upon-Tweed, on Northumberland's Heritage Coast, is 7 miles distant and has restaurants, cafes, taverns, and a links golf course. Berwick is 40 minutes by train from Edinburgh or Newcastle.
