A refurbished cottage resting in the quaint seaside town of Bamburgh, Northumberland, Dunford Cottage is the ideal base for a family or group of adults looking to explore the local scenery. Be welcomed into a charming living room with a huge selection of books for you to choose from, and you can relax in one of the stylish stripy sofas and plan the day ahead of you, and this space is outfitted with tasteful décor and also featuring a dining table with additional seating and access to a lovely conservatory through double glass doors, with easy access to the rear garden and seating area, an ideal spot for alfresco dining.
When mealtimes call, a spacious contemporary kitchen with white furniture and wooden flooring will cater to all of your culinary needs. Throughout the property three delightful bedrooms, and a family bathroom, can be found, including a king-size and a twin on the first floor and a second twin on the second floor. Bamburgh is an amazing seaside location with so much on offer for guests including a fantastic range of eateries, local walks along the coast and a beautiful sandy beach. Most notably, Bamburgh has an amazing castle, Bamburgh Castle, which towers over the local countryside. Further from the property you will find the idyllic Holy Island, where there will be many more eateries, independent shops and a fantastic range of historical sites, accompanied by two museums, including Lindisfarne Priory and castle.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

This was by far the best we have ever stayed it. It was clean, and so well equipped. It had everything you could think of for adults, children and even dogs (treats and dog toys). Amazing stay and would 100% recommend to anyone. The view from the living room of Bamburgh Castle just topped off how gorgeous this cottage is. We canât wait to return!

Itâs comforting to know that when we arrive, you donât have to worry about anything . We had a wonderful time, upset by one thing parking, we do our best not to upset the residents, one car had a note on the window screen and we had a key down the side of the car, weâre hoping that it was the bin men , canât imagine people there would do anything like that . Not stopping us coming back, you have a beautiful place, thank you for sharing it with us. Julie and family
