About this property

Resting in the town centre of the historic Bamburgh, Castle View is an idyllic Northumbrian property within easy reach of local amenities and attractions and is ideal for a family or a group of adults. Be welcomed into a wonderful sitting area, where a bold blue feature wall houses an electric fire stove, complementing the pale furniture and wooden flooring and emphasising the fantastic corner window which draws in seas of natural light and allows for brilliant views of the local castle. From here you will find a spacious kitchen outfitted with contemporary grey cupboards and boasting many amenities to cater to your culinary needs, and the spacious nature means that guests can cook together, enjoying their meal at the dining table, and overall this is a light and airy social hub for all guests to enjoy. Single-storey, you will find a lovely contemporary shower room with blue cupboards and complementary white tiles, as well as a king-size bedroom and a twin, ideal for a family. From the patio outside you will be able to have a cup of coffee and enjoy views of the castle and surrounding countryside. Bamburgh is a great seaside location, and there are a great number of eateries for you to enjoy, as well as a local deli and butchers, where you will be able to stock up on essentials and try out local produce. Bamburgh has countryside walks and a scenic sandy beach where you can enjoy a family walk with your four-legged companions, or even try out watersports and wild swimming. Bamburgh is probably best known for its magnificent castle, which towers above the bay and countryside giving breath-taking views and an interesting insight into local history. More beach walks and amenities can be found at Seahouses and Beadnell, and further from the property you can visit the increadible Holy Island where you will find attractions such as Lindisfarne Priory and castle. Explore the history of the Northumberland coast with a stay at Castle View.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Everything was lovely and clean and fully equipped. The layout was nicely thought out and lovely to sit and look at Bamburgh Castle at meal times. Great for Hal the dog and great position to head to the beach. We parked near the green which wasn’t a problem for us as we could park the car opposite the property to pack and unpack. Loved the decor, v relaxing colour scheme. Beds were comfy. All in all a super compact and comfortable cottage. Thanks for the welcome box.

Gorgeous cottage in a great location, compact and well designed. Our week here was sunny but very cold and the cottage was so warm and cosy with all the facilities we needed. Hopefully we’ll be back again soon ❤️

The whole family had a wonderful break over Christmas. Parking was a bit tricky but a minor issue
