The lovely coastal village of Bamburgh is famous for its castle, once home to the Kings of Northumbria, and which can be seen from the cottage. You can visit the inspiring rnli Grace Darling Museum or take a trip to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Bamburgh is home to a spectacular sandy beach stretching for three miles. The village offers a host of great shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. There are miles of glorious walking and cycling routes, and you can head to Budle Bay, a picturesque bird sanctuary. The village of Seahouses is just over 2 miles south and provides access to the popular boat trips to the Farne Islands where you can see the bird and seal reserves. On entering this charming single level Grade II listed building originally constructed in the late 19th century for workmen restoring the castle, you will find yourself in the bright and welcoming open plan lounge/kitchen/diner.
