If you can tear yourself away, head into the bustling town of Ashington, where you can peruse the local markets selling fresh produce and authentic goods, picnic in the picturesque Queen Elizabeth II Country Park or enjoy a leisurely stroll through Ashington Community Woodland where you can catch a glimpse of the local wildlife.

Those looking to step back in time can enjoy the delights of the Woodhorn Museum, a former 19th-century coal mine. For a day at the beach take the short drive over to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, where you can bathe on the golden sands, paddle the shores, and take in the beautiful views of Sean Henry's romantic Couple sculpture. There is also the excellent Newbiggin Golf Club where you can test out your swing with impressive sea views. Just a little further, you will find Morpeth, home to the Morpeth Chantry, Carlisle Park and the fun-filled Treasure Island. Adventure awaits at 10 Mariners Rise.

One of Northumberland's largest towns, Ashington has a wide range of attractions and amenities. Authentic goods from small vendors can be found in bustling markets decorated with bunting, as can food stands serving regional fare. Visitors to Ashington Community Woodland and the Queen Elizabeth II Country Park will find themselves in awe of the natural beauty of the area. Woodhorn Museum, a former coal mine from the nineteenth century that now houses local art and artefacts, is a great place to learn about the town's farming and mining history. There is a romantic sculpture of a couple by Sean Henry in a beautiful bay in Ashington's neighbouring town of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea Beach, and golfers can play at the nearby Newbiggen Golf Club, which boasts stunning views of the coast.

I'd be happy to book the same caravan again. Sandy Bay was good too. Made good use of the swimming pool and activities which was enough to keep the boys entertained all week.

Hoover could be doing with replacement as hardly any suction on carpeted areas.
