A 200 year old stone cottage with many unique features overlooking the Cheviot Hills and the River Coquet.

A fabulous child and dog friendly holiday home in the Cheviot Hills. This cottage is a perfect base for walking with family and friends and escaping the trappings of the daily routine. Cheviot Cottage is comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Accommodation is over two floors with three bedrooms sleeping five guests with a charming sitting room, well fitted kitchen diner a 4* Gold accreditation by Visit England!

This is an excellent location for outdoor pursuits with walking and cycling trails on the doorstep. Step outside and you’re in unspoilt countryside at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, take a leisurely stroll  along the banks of the river Coquet or do a spot of fishing. The Northumberland National Park is a haven for wildlife with black grouse, ospreys and otters can be spotted along the the river. Northumberland is home to more castles and fortified houses than any other region in England.

Cheviot Cottage is a great base for walkers, cyclists and stargazers… the area is Europe's largest 'Dark Skies' area.

Cloakroom: WC, wash hand basin.

First floor:

Master bedroom: double bed, fitted wardrobes, window seat.

Bedroom 2: twin beds,

Bedroom 3: single beds.

Bathroom: bath with shower over, wash hand basin, WC.

Entertainment: TV, DVD player, books, games,

For families: Cot and a highchair can be provided (no cot bedding), some outdoor play equipment.

Outside: private garden with views of the hills and river bank, garden furniture (sun loungers and patio furniture)

Parking: for 1 car.

General: Bed linen and towels are provided. Bedding, heating (via night storage). Telephone (communal pay phone)

Pets: up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome, additional charge of £25.00 per pet per week or part thereof. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs.

Please note: Coquet Cottage is adjacent Cheviot Cottage, and there is an interlinking door enabling the two properties to be booked together. Nearest shops are in Rothbury- 10 miles away. Whilst the garden is enclosed, Cheviot Cottage is adjacent to a river, children & dogs should be supervised.
