Maltster’s Rest is an excellent base from which you can easily explore the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Northumberland Heritage coastline, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coastal town of Alnmouth, with its beautiful beach is just 4½ miles to the east and for walkers you have the wild and unspoilt expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west.
