Dodds Nook is a modern and cosy cottage praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and superb location in the heart of Alnwick. Guests appreciate the quiet setting, proximity to amenities, and the thoughtful touches, although some find it snug for larger groups. It's an ideal retreat for couples or small families looking to explore the town and surrounding areas.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-kept, with guests noting its modern interior. Previous concerns seem to have been addressed promptly, indicating a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for being central yet quiet, with easy access to local attractions, pubs, and restaurants. The convenience of nearby parking adds to the appeal.

The cottage is generally found to be comfortable, especially for couples or smaller groups. However, some guests find the space cramped for four adults, particularly in the communal areas.

Facilities are good, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Some guests mention minor issues such as the need for an extractor fan in the bathroom and internet connectivity problems, suggesting room for improvement.

Guests are pleased with the thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper, although experiences vary. It's noted that such gestures are appreciated but may not be consistent for every stay.

About this property

Although a peaceful setting, the cottage rests in the heart of Alnwick and close to fantastic amenities, making this a wonderful base for three people. An allocated parking space is available on a nearby residential street, before heading down the pedestrianised Upper Dodds Lane to find your home-away-from-home. Be welcomed by an attractive, open-plan living space that offers rest and refuge after the day's adventures; impressive artwork and décor makes Dodds Nook a homely, characterful setting welcoming two well-behaved dogs of small-to-medium size, so you don't have to leave your canine companion at home! The group's chef can prepare a delicious evening meal in the kitchen-dining area, equipped with an electric oven, hob, fridge with ice box, and rustic dining with bench seating. Listen to music or watch TV and sink into the plush corner sofa, whilst the warmth of the electric fire adds extra comfort on colder days. Property had everything we needed during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay - highly recommended

Well set up cottage, plenty of room and very comfortable. Great location a couple of minutes stroll from the centre of Alnwick so everything virtually on your doorstep, but far enough away that you very rarely hear any noise. Lovely little outside seating area for a glass of wine of an evening watching the bats flying around between the buildings. Perfect location for exploring both the coast and inland. Parking, whilst not immediately outside the property, is no problem, just around the corner (less then a minute away). Space always available and a residents parking permit provided.

But only one spare toilet roll (had to buy more - annoying as we had to bring spares back in already full cases on the train), soap dispenser in bathroom empty and limited number of dishwasher tablets.
