Guests say

Methodist Cottage is a well-regarded holiday rental, praised for its beautiful decor, comfortable furnishings, and excellent location for visiting local attractions. Guests find it clean, cosy, and well-equipped, making it a peaceful and restful choice for those looking to explore the North East or enjoy a quiet getaway.

The cottage is generally described as clean and spotless, although one review mentioned cobwebs and dust, suggesting minor inconsistencies in cleanliness.

The location is appreciated for its quietness and proximity to attractions like Beamish Museum and Durham. However, the lack of local amenities within walking distance was noted.

Most guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, but there are comments about sagging furniture, which indicates that some items may need updating for optimal comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped and ready for guests, but there are reports of maintenance issues like a non-working gas fire and kitchen clock, suggesting room for improvement.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean cottage with everything we needed for our stay. We were unable to speak to the owner before or on arrival - couldn’t get past the call blocking on the landline number provided and no answer on the mobile number - but nevertheless the cottage was accessible and ready for us and we had a lovely stay. Would use again, thank you.

Good base for a family of 4. Local pub very friendly, large ASDA nearby.

Beautiful cottage but so many cobwebs and dust bunnies under the furniture. The settees are good looking but very sagged, as is the bed. Lovely location and very well equipped.Unfortunately the gas fire stopped working during our visit and the engineer had to wait for a spare part. The kitchen clock only worked twice a day and was not fixed despite our request on our 2nd day
