Guests say

The Shanty is a spacious, well-equipped bungalow praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and large, secure garden—ideal for both guests and dogs. Its proximity to a sandy beach, local shops, and pubs is a highlight, making it a popular choice for relaxing breaks. While most guests found the property warm and inviting, some noted minor maintenance issues and occasional disruption from nearby building works. Overall, guests enjoyed their stays and many expressed a desire to return.

The majority of guests described the property as spotlessly clean, with fresh linens and towels. Only one review mentioned a lack of a welcome pack, but this did not relate to cleanliness. No significant negative comments were made about the property's cleanliness.

Guests appreciated the quiet setting and short walk to the beach, shops, and pubs. Some were disappointed by the proximity of new housing developments and building works, which affected views and tranquillity for a few, but overall the location was considered very good.

The property is frequently described as comfortable, with spacious rooms, cosy beds, and a large sofa. A few guests mentioned a preference for higher chairs or a larger bed, but these were minor points. The house is warm and well-suited for both people and pets.

The bungalow is well-equipped with a good kitchen, large fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer, and BBQ area. Some guests noted maintenance issues such as poor water pressure in showers, an old dishwasher, and garden/decking needing attention. The majority still found the facilities met their needs.

Some guests mentioned thoughtful touches such as arrangements for cleaning and bin collection, and the property being well-prepared for dogs. However, it was noted that a welcome pack is no longer provided, and gifts or extras are not guaranteed.
