About this property

Located in the Norfolk town of Sheringham, near the stunning coastline is Beck Cottage, a charming, former fisherman's dwelling. Well-equipped for a self-catered break, whilst encompassed by both coastal and countryside attractions, Beck Cottage enjoys a central position, offering a wonderful base for a romantic getaway; two guests and a furry companion are invited. Park up on a nearby road before making your way to this characterful home. Step indoors to meet the compact yet convenient kitchen/diner, with a breakfast bar, gas oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer on offer. For formal mealtimes, head upstairs and set the drop-leaf dining table, as the wine is poured and conversion flows, before lounging in front of the Smart TV for the night. As sleep calls, head downstairs to climb into the plush double bed, awakening to a refreshing shower in the en-suite. Travel on foot into the town to meet a wealth of shops, pubs, restaurants, takeaways and cafés, before enjoying a stroll along the Blue Flag terrain of Sheringham Beach, or a visit to the picturesque landscape of Sheringham Boating Lake, whilst the National Trust property of Sheringham Park is nearby, ideal for touring on wet days; the North Norfolk Railway Poppy Line is also within the area, recommended to board for a trip through the countryside, ending the trip in Holt, also home to a range of delightful amenities. Follow the coastline to reach Cromer, where you can enjoy a beach day, tour the local museum, and visit the Amazona Zoo, home to over 200 different species, before spending an afternoon upon Cromer Pier & Pavilion Theatre, full of seaside amusements for a memorable trip. The Norfolk Coast AONB is within driving distance, with some local coastlines to explore, including Salthouse Beach, or hike through Salthouse Marshes for the chance to wildlife spot, whilst Mundesley Beach and Happisburgh Beach rest south, also perfect for days at the coast. Make memories together at Beck Cottage.

Sheringham began as a little fishing community on the coast of North Norfolk, but after the railroads arrived there in 1887, it flourished and developed into a well-liked vacation destination. Sheringham has received accolades from Britain in Bloom, Anglia in Bloom, and Best Coastal Resort in addition to 10 consecutive European Blue Flags for the cleanliness of its beach. Enjoy strolling along the East or West promenades, which have a beach with a silver-pebbled shoreline leading to golden beaches with rock pools and streams adjacent to ochre cliffs, local fishing boats, and an rlni lifeboat station with museum, as well as sea vistas with blue skies and red sunsets.

However l must mention the entrance to the cottage. There is three steep steps to the cottage entrance. My wife who is in her late seventies and l just turned eighty are not as nimble footed as in our younger day. My wife took a tumble on the steps to the cottage. She is l am happy to say ok bar a bruise to her forearm and sore hand. Other than that we had a nice short stay in a cosy cottage

The cottage was clean and tidy a great place to rest and enjoy the Norfolk coastal life. I would advise that in the Summer if staying at the cottage use the long stay car park that is nearby as parking is residential so may be difficult when town is busy. Great place to stay with a dog .

The cottage was smaller than expected, but well kitted out and comfortable. Being a very short walking distance to beach shops restaurants and pubs is fantastic. Finding pleasant walks, again not far from the cottage, at any level was just what we wanted. All in all a successful break for us
