The village is close to the ruins of Whorlton Castle. Carlton-in-Cleveland and Faceby have two public houses, The Blackwell Ox and the Sutton Arms. The nearby Gerogian Market Town of Stokesley has all of the shops and amenities needed for a great stay in North Yorkshire.
