About this property

Wragby 3 miles. This modern, semi-detached dormer bungalow is situated next to the owner's home, on the edge of the small hamlet of West Torrington, three miles from Wragby. Situated down a rural quiet country lane, at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds, it provides an excellent base for walking and cycling. Offering light and airy accommodation, there is an open plan living area, incorporating a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting area with a cosy woodburning stove, set in a feature fireplace. There is a separate dining room, a ground floor bedroom and bathroom with shower. Upstairs are two pretty bedrooms and a shower room. A covered walkway leads to the external utility room, which has the added benefit of toilet facilities. On warm summer days, the large, lawned rear garden is the perfect place to sit and relax in tranquillity, with views over open countryside. The immediate vicinity is ideal for walking and cycling, with nearby fishing lakes and numerous public footpaths to explore. Wragby is a small friendly market town, with several pubs, a cafe and restaurants, while a little further afield is Horncastle, with a wide array of amenities and renowned for its interesting antique shops. Lincolnshire offers numerous RAF heritage opportunities, including a real Lancaster bomber on display at the Heritage Aviation Centre in East Kirkby and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby. The historic city of Lincoln is only a short drive and well worth visiting with its majestic cathedral and castle, perched high on the hill, overlooking the town centre. With the seaside resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and other enjoyable day trips, this well-placed holiday home has something for everyone.

Wragby is a small town surrounded by Lincolnshire countryside, a short drive from the city of Lincoln itself. The town is the home of the ‘Rout Yard’ the remains of two 19th century manors, the 19th century Grade II listed church of All Saints, and a tall tower mill, built in 1831 by the millwright Ingledew. Wragby offers three friendly local pubs, a fish shop, a café, and a restaurant, with a regular bus service linking it to Horncastle and the coastal town of Skegness. A wonderful base for exploring Lincolnshire, all year round!

Our dog is quite barky at many things but there wasn't anything for her to bark at! The immediate surrounding area is lovely and peaceful with not much traffic . We went on a nice 4 mile walk across the footpaths on the fields. Lincoln is only 25 minutes away by car and the cathedral is amazing. The only thing that could be improved in the cottage is the addition of streaming channels on the TV as we struggled to get freeview channels sometimes.

Do go to the horse rescue. The cottage was extremely well equiped, everything you could need in the kitchen, cot, highchair, buckets and spades, paddling pool. It was also really spacious. The garden was a fabulous size for our dogs. Plenty of seating outside. We really enjoyed our holiday here. Thank you for thinking of everything, it makes a difference to people's holidays.

The garden was perfect for our two dogs and even the weather behaved. Lots to do locally and enjoyed nice meals out, would recommend Adam and Eve pub in Wragby and the Kings Head at Tealby. The hosts, especially Mary next door, were very helpful and thanks for the lovely cake on arrival
