Willow Cottage in Ulverston is a quaint and cosy property with a lovely garden, well-suited for families and pets. Its ideal location near the lakes and local pubs adds to its charm. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and the warm, homely feel of the cottage.

Several reviews mention cleanliness issues such as dirty bakeware, floors, and kitchenware, which suggests that cleanliness is below expectations for some guests.

The cottage's location is frequently praised for being well-situated, easy to find, and close to local amenities and the lakes, making it an ideal spot for exploring the area.

Guests find the beds comfy and the cottage cosy, especially praising its warmth. However, some mention it can be cold at night with no instructions for heating, affecting the comfort level.

The property is generally well-equipped, but several reviews cite issues with maintenance such as a broken fire, door handle problems, and lack of heating instructions, indicating room for improvement.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches from the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the level of thoughtfulness.

Great location. The cottage was a bit cold at night and we weren't given instructions on how to turn up the heating. There were some logs left for fire but no kindling so they wouldn't burn.

Exceptionally well located, and a gorgeously quaint little cottage with lots of charm and potential. The garden was lovely. The beds were comfy and clean. Plenty of space for two adults, two kids and a large dog. However there were a number of issues that I note (from other reviews online and in the guestbook) that seem to be fairly typical and often raised. Cleanliness in general was less than I would expect. Some of the bakeware had dried on food. The grout on the shower didn't look like it had been touched in a LONG time (although the shower itself was reliable and reasonably powerful!) The fire was out of commission, and the back door handle kept coming off. All in all, these are relatively small factors that cumulatively caused a lot of frustration. That having been said, I do think they're reasonably straightforward fixes that, if addressed, would make this a phenomenal little gem.
