Accommodation was not clean, cobwebs, dust and smells. Very disappointed. The cleanliness lets this accomodation down. Don't know if it's up for sale that the owners don't care.

Overall, this is a comfortable, well-equipped lodge in a good location to visit the Coniston and Windermere area of the Lake District. I have advised the owners of a few faults that need to be fixed, but there are some that can't. In fairness, the owners have taken action on most of the fixable issues raised by previous guests in the comments book.

The lodge itself was OK, the locks on both doors were difficult to operate and their were no hand towels. The main problem was access. We were aware of the steep gravel slope but the access to the top of the park needed a 4WD. The track had worn away on the left hand side and all the gravel had worn away.
