Cloverley is a spacious property with stunning views, situated in a fantastic location in Windermere. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy living area, and the convenience of parking. While some areas are dated, the property offers good value for money.
The property generally appears clean, but some guests noted a musty smell and the need to rewash crockery. The initial cleanliness seems satisfactory, but there may be issues with lingering odours and deeper cleaning.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions and the beautiful views it offers. The steep hill may be challenging for some, but overall, the location is considered excellent.
Comfort is compromised by dated and uncomfortable beds, with several guests reporting issues with the mattresses. The living area is comfortable, but the overall comfort level is affected by the sleeping arrangements.
Facilities are adequate, but maintenance issues like the shower door and dated kitchen detract from the experience. Some guests found the property well-equipped, but the need for updates and repairs is evident.
There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

We visited Cloverley with some hesitation after seeing so many poor reviews, however we had a lovely week. The flat is really spacious and the views in the winter across Lake Windermere were fantastic. Some areas of the flat are dated however these can be clearly seen by the photos on the website (kitchen and bedrooms predominately), so we were prepared for that. Additionally if it were modernised i'm sure the cost would go up a lot. At the moment it offers good value for money. The beds have very firm mattresses. This did not bother us at all and we all slept well. The shower appeared to have a temporary fix to stop the showerhead sliding down the rail however we all had fantastic hot and powerful showers. There were also no issues with the shower door. The flat was also clean upon arrival (and warm). We found the living room to be very cosy (yet spacious) and I spent a lot of time admiring the view to the lake.Location-wise it was fantastic. Parking for 2 cars was great. It is situated up a steep hill in the centre of Bowness. In my opinion anyone of normal fitness could manage this walk. It only took 5-10 minutes and comprised a steep section followed by a flatter section and then another steep section. Just up the road are some nice walks. The view from Brant Fell was amazing and you can leave the car at the flat.

The property is in dire need of an upgrade. We had to cut thevholiday short as the shower head was broken and had to return home to shower, the beds are uncomfortable, furniture had not been moved tp clean and the washing up bowl was ancient. Overall very poor, I have stayed with cottages.com before and was not expecting this as the quality of accommodatoon is usually very good.

Although the property was clean it is very dated. The kitchen is old and in need of a revamp, the bathroom is tatty ( sink plug doesn't work and the shower door is dangerous, it falls off its runner and could cause serious injury). The whole building is cold and even with the heating being on the heat just drains from the building. And there's a smell about the property, once the smell of bleach wore off it has a musky old smell, lots of air freshener needed daily.
