The Cowshed is a charming and characterful cottage praised for its comfortable furnishings, quirky cow-themed decor, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the proximity to shops and the ease of accessing the Lake District. The property offers a cosy atmosphere, a well-stocked kitchen, and a pleasant outdoor space.
Guests have generally found The Cowshed to be clean and well-kept, with only one mention of a mouldy washing machine seal, which seems to be an isolated issue.
The location is highly regarded due to its proximity to local shops, the town centre, and ease of access to the Lake District and transport links to major cities.
The cottage is consistently described as comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed and living area. The unique decorations and cosy fire add to the overall comfort.
Facilities are well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and efficient oven. However, the lack of a dishwasher and a small kitchen space are noted, and the issue with the washing machine has impacted the score.
While guests have expressed appreciation for the host, Elizabeth, and the overall welcoming atmosphere of The Cowshed, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

The cottage is in a great location. There are numerous shopping opportunities nearby and the parking spot directly behind the house was excellent. The cottage is very lovingly furnished and there is a lot to discover inside. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. You can quickly reach the Lake District by car, but you can also take a train from Penrith to Glasgow or Manchester. The only thing we didn't like was the washing machine. The rubber was mouldy, so we didn't use it.

A delightfully quirky place, with cow-related decor throughout. The living/dining room is very comfortable, and the kitchen has all the facilitis (barring a dishwasher) that one could want. The main bedroom is spacious and comfortable with more cow-themed decoration. There are Spar and a Nisi stores very close by, and it is a ten minute walk into the town centre. All in all this is a very nice property

A quirky, characterful cottage. An excellent conversion of the previous cow shed with unique decorations paying tribute to it's history. The owner, Elizabeth, was a pleasure to communicate with. The accommodation has everything you need for a pleasant stay in Penrith: comfortable furnishings, small kitchen, a powerful shower and parking for one car.I have no hesitation in recommending The Cowshed to prospective bookers.
