Head upstairs where you can relax in the sumptuous lounge in front of a woodburning stove, with logs and kindling provided. Prepare delicious meals in the kitchen with a generous double oven and enjoy them with family around the sociable dining table. On the first floor you will also find a comfortable twin bedroom (this can be made into a super king on request) and a monsoon shower room. The second floor consists of two luxurious king size bedrooms, each with a dressing room and en-suite facilities including designer roll top baths and walk in rain showers. Children and one well behaved dog are welcome for stays at Upper Longsyke.

Sunny al-fresco evenings can be enjoyed on two beautiful benches in an enclosed patio garden and guests can enjoy the convenience of two private parking spaces.

Situated a few minutes from the heart of Grasmere village, Upper Longsyke has all the facilities you’ll need during your stay with local shops, much-loved restaurants and traditional pubs a short stroll away. Rainy days can be spent browsing the Heaton Cooper Art Gallery, Wordsworth Museum and delightful independent Sam Read bookshop and treats can be found at Grasmere’s famous Gingerbread Shop.

Discover romantic lakeside walks around Grasmere and nearby Rydal Water or head up into the beautiful local fells with stunning views from Helm Crag and the Fairfield Horseshoe.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
