About this property

A contemporary Ambleside apartment with a convenient, central location close to the shores of Lake Windermere.

Soak up natural light and Lakeland views in this airy property with a plethora of almost floor-to-ceiling windows and open plan living space.

The property features a convenient ground floor entrance porch that is perfect for storing muddy boots and walking gear. Head upstairs to a bright open plan living space with stripped wooden floors, a designer kitchen, sociable dining table and sumptuous chocolate leather furnishings. Large windows adorn the property flooding it with beautiful light and providing fabulous Lakeland views across Ambleside and beyond. A comfortable twin bedroom is situated on this floor with en-suite shower room. Upstairs you will find a spacious king-size loft suite with en-suite bathroom, complete with bathroom TV and spectacular views. A special feature of this property is the furnished roof terrace, perfect for evening meals as the sun goes down. Private parking is available for one car.

A short stroll will find you in Ambleside village centre, a friendly village bustling with outdoor equipment shops, charming cafes and a great selection of restaurants. No stay in Ambleside is complete without a visit to the 17th century Bridge House. Windows is less than half a mile from Waterhead at the beautiful northern shore of Lake Windermere, where you can catch a boat trip across the lake.

Ambleside is a walkers heaven with gentle rambles to nearby Rydal or more challenging climbs to enjoy spectacular views from Wansfell.

A sociable, bright and airy apartment perfect for a couple or small family.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

The open plan living area is well laid out and well lit with big windows, and the heating system is very efficient. The parking was beside the building and easy to access. We’ve stayed here several times and have already booked to return

The open views through the windows and veranda make this property a special location.

The staircase has no banister railing which may well be illegal The store cupboard was untidy so had to be rearranged to access the washing and drying equipment . The vacuum cleaner was is heavy we couldn’t use it ! The shower head in the bathroom needs attention and the shower curtain was not clean The veranda needed sweeping ( which we did before we used it ) again it needs a lick of paint . The top of the wall was covered in cherry stones !! some light bulbs required changing particular the central one over the dining table. The crockery was very nice but not enough, which meant that we were not using the dishwasher most of the time. These problems stop this being a lovely apartment . With regard to the parking , the information stated 2 places but informed that we had to pay for parking !! I shall be taking this up by telephone on Monday next .
