Traditional Cumbrian village of Levens is located on a high plateau in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, making it an excellent starting point for day trips to the area. There is a church, a general shop, and a pub in the settlement. Levens, a small village in the Yorkshire Dales, is a cluster of superb, stone-built mediaeval houses, cottages, and barn conversions surrounded by pristine countryside, with a variety of flora and animals and a nature reserve that provides ideal walking area. It is not far from Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall, with its magnificent topiary garden and easy access to limestone escarpments with breathtaking views of the Lake District, the Howgills, and Morecambe Bay. The nearby town of Kendal is a great starting point for exploring the South Lakeland region, the Yorkshire Dales, and other nearby destinations as well. Lake Windermere and the larger National Park are all easily accessible from Levens, making it an ideal starting point for a relaxed getaway.
