Riven Oak is a pet-friendly cottage in Kendal, praised for its warm, well-equipped interior and convenient location for exploring the Lake District. The upside-down layout and enclosed garden are appreciated, though some guests suggest improvements in maintenance and cleanliness.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews indicate a range of experiences with cleanliness. Some guests found the property clean and welcoming, while others reported issues with dust, cobwebs, and a musty smell. The inconsistency leads to a below-average score.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to Lake District walks and a quiet village setting. Despite some difficulties in finding the property, the scenic surroundings and friendly neighbours contribute to a high score.

Guests have mixed feelings about comfort; some found the beds and living areas comfortable, while others reported dampness and uncomfortable beds. The presence of both positive and negative feedback results in an average score.

The property offers a well-equipped kitchen and open-plan living area. However, feedback on maintenance issues like outdated TVs, insufficient lighting, and garden furniture suggests room for improvement, leading to a slightly above-average score.

There is insufficient information regarding thoughtful touches such as gifts or welcome packs. While some guests mentioned a lack of basic supplies, there are no specific references to gifts, so this category cannot be scored.

Would benefit from a small toilet upstairs, eg in the eaves store area Plentiful supply of hot water for showers for our 8 people Radiators provided cosy heating, and we enjoyed the log fire Was worried at some of the reviews last August, but owners have made all necessary changes, and could not fault cleanliness Lovely dog walks just a minute stroll along the lane All in all, would recommend this property

What a GEM. The place was spotless, warm and inviting. The owners even left a Christmas Tree in place which was a beautiful touch. My whole family loved the place. We are even looking at booking for Christmas and New year's 2024..

All of the concerns raised were addressed, for which we were very grateful. The property was clean, warm and welcoming. The situation is superb: with 2 dogs, it was a privilege to have an amazing walk to the hills on the doorstep. Thank you so much for making our stay in the lake district so memorable. 2 very very quick (and very small) points: - we could only find one chopping board and no bread board. Given the size of the property, it might be worth investing in another, (or else we missed something obvious) - the freezer might need a bit of a clean! Thank you once again
