Beck Steps 1 is a delightful character cottage situated in the heart of Grasmere village in the picturesque Lake District. Combining picture perfect exteriors with a boutique hotel style interior, Beck Steps 1 cottage combines modern luxury with romantic style to create the perfect Lakes hideaway for a couple. Through the traditional cottage style front door, you enter the living room with its Lakeland stone flagged floor, wood burning stove and cosy yet contemporary furnishings. The Shaker style kitchen is clean and bright and luxuriously fitted out and there's a door out to the patio. Upstairs is pure luxury, from the king size bed and lovely Shaker style bedroom suite to the bathroom with its claw-footed freestanding tub and oversized telephone shower. There's also a hand basin, WC and heated towel rail to complete the opulent yet relaxed feel.
Outside there's a patio with garden furniture, ideal for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine after a busy day's sightseeing. Private parking for one car is also provided at the rear of the property, while the front door opens almost directly on to the traditional village green. Grasmere is one of the most vibrant and sought after villages in the Lake District, famous for its gingerbread and its association with the Lakeland poets. The bed was lovely & comfortable but it would have been good if one of the mirrors had a light above (and in the bathroom) for applying makeup etc for someone like me who wears glasses. The back door latch needs attention but besides these niggles, we would definitely stay there again. Grasmere is our favourite place in the Lakes so it was good to have a cottage in the centre of the village & on the couple of days it rained it was a great position to people watch!

It has everything we need for a lovely holiday. Communications before arrival with Sykes Cottages was very good. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival with many thanks to the housekeeper for this. The furnishings, bedding and towels and kitchen equipment are excellent. The location is wonderful and we are always sad to leave this lovely cottage. So much so that we've already booked again for 2026!
