Snaptrip says

Rose Cottage Coniston is praised for its cosy, warm interiors, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Its location is ideal for walks and proximity to local amenities. The garden offers beautiful views, albeit some guests suggest maintenance. Parking can be tricky due to a tree and visibility issues.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the interior cosy, warm, and clean, with immaculate bathrooms. However, a few noted a damp smell and the need for a deeper clean in places like the shower grout.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to pubs, cafes, and walking routes. The scenic views and central position in Coniston are significant advantages, despite some concerns about road noise and visibility when exiting the driveway.

Guests were very satisfied with the comfortable beds and the overall spaciousness of the cottage. The presence of a wood stove and the cosy atmosphere added to the comfort level, although some guests mentioned low door frames and a lack of seating for the full occupancy.

Facilities like the well-stocked kitchen, Wi-Fi, and smart TV were appreciated. However, there were comments about the need for garden maintenance, updating outdoor furniture, and addressing issues with the washing machine and tumble dryer.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this score cannot be calculated.

Overall it felt dusty and damp in places, and the washing machine is broken. We enjoyed being in Coniston, but the driveway is very dangerous onto the road, it would benefit from a mirror. Also as the property says it is suitable for dogs and children it really needs to secure a garden area off from the road. On a positive the kitchen is well stocked with plenty of utensils and crockery!

Everything we needed was thought of and the beds were the best we have had in a rental property. The location is perfect and the large garden was a real bonus. We had many tears from the kids before we left as they didn’t want to leave. We will be back.

However, as it was so expensive for just a week I would not expect mould in the bathroom / shower or any cobwebs at all and the floors and units to be spotless. I would also expect the wood to be provided for the fire ( I left some I had bought ) The garden needs the furniture updating and maybe some more seating, parasols etc and the raised beds attended to so you could all sit out together on a nice evening and enjoy the Mountain View and air. That being said we really enjoyed our stay really cosy the beds are super comfortable the linen spotless and very dog friendly. The boot room is great but might do well with an external heater to dry wet walking gear.
