Whinny Brow is the larger style of the two bedroomed lodges, with a spacious, extended veranda complete with patio furniture and uninterrupted views to Skiddaw and Latrigg.

This has been our 4th stay at Burnside, and the 1st with Whinny Brow. It was a nice quiet, and clean log cabin, with great views to relax in front of. But . . . . There are just a few small things, I wish to point out. Bath towels need to be somewhat bigger. Toilet seat hasn’t been put on straight, and keeps sliding to the side. Patio windows to the decking could’ve done with a clean, and carpet is leaning towards a replacement also. And in the middle of our 2nd week, noticed the hot water cap to the tap was missing in the kitchen. And oddly been replaced by a milk carton cap. Sofa had a light ring mark on the arm, where clearly somebody has rested a hot cup. So somebody should be checking this. The cooker gets externally excessively hot, and you have to be careful. The cupboard to the right of the cooker, is quite awkward for those of you who are a little shorter in height. With a First Aid kit on top of that, to which some people would struggle to reach. And what is a shame with any stay we’ve had at Burnside. And we’ve always said it. They need bigger TV’s. This is not a rant in any shape or form. Just trying to help, as we thoroughly enjoy staying here. On arrival a small complimentary pack to make a brew wouldn’t go a miss.

A lovely and well appointed lodge with amazing views over fields with sheep and beautiful fells/hills! Well equipped and comfortable beds. About 15-20min walk into the centre of Keswick which is at the Derwent water with various possibilities of further walking and hikes, boat trips, swimming and other water sports.
