Please note: No children.. Squirrel’s Retreat is a lovely, open-plan apartment set at the rear of the owner’s large detached property. With its own private entrance, it is ideal for couples looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday, or those that enjoy walks, bike rides and some of Lakeland’s finest scenery.
The living space is open plan with the dining area, and large picture windows flood the room with natural light. Overlooking the woodland and the owner’s garden area, there are glimpsing lake and fell views, and an abundance of visiting wildlife to look out for, including the osprey each spring, woodpeckers and red squirrels, just to name a few. A modern kitchen is just off from the living area, and has everything you need to make a hearty breakfast to start the day with. A comfortable bedroom, again with beautiful views from the window, will inspire you each day as you awake from a restful nights sleep. Outside, a small patio has a seating area overlooking the woodland and garden area, ideal to sit and enjoy the sounds of nature as you enjoy your morning cup of coffee.
Set in magnificent grounds of the owners property, it is just yards away from paths leading up to Whinlatter Forest, famous for its walking and mountain bike trails. To the front, is a quite lane leading down to the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, and for the more adventurous, Skiddaw is a favourite of many walkers looking for the higher summit views. The nearby market town of Keswick is popular with visitors looking for cafés, bars and eateries, and speciality shops of every kind can be found too. Stay dry on rainy days as you catch a play at The Theatre By The Lake, or the latest film at the Alhambra Cinema. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Fantastic location set in beautiful grounds. Lots of wildlife to see right outside the door. Easy access to local walks and a short drive to Keswick for all the excellent resturants and pubs. Very spacious accommodation, very clean and everything you need. This is our second visit to Squirrels Retreat and we're already planning our next visit. 10/10

Absolutely Fantastic place , plenty of wildlife , very quiet , owners very helpful , the only negative is that we only stayed 2 days and should of stayed longer . 10/10 . keep up the great service .
