We had a wonderful week here. Great location, lovely apartment, quiet clean and spacious. However i am loathe to recommend this apartment in case it gets so hooked up that I can't ever find a free week again. One small point, a washing machine would have been useful.

I've lost count how many times we've stayed at our favorite cottage in the lakes, 6 The Hollies. It's not perfect, but it's location is.I'll start with the positives, good size entrance hall where you take off your walking gear and boots. It has two good size bedrooms and two bathrooms (a must as there always four of us). Comfy beds and plenty of storage space. The lounge is a great size with amazing views of the fells, and the sofa and chairs have recently been upgraded. There's a book case with reading material, maps and local information. The kitchen is a good size, again with plenty of storage and table and chairs. There is a lovely communal garden to the front of the property, and seating right outside the cottage too, perfect for your morning brew. The welcome box is always a nice touch to.The negatives. The fridge/freezer space is way too small if there are 4 adults staying. There's no washer/dryer, which is a must if you're there for a week. A fire would be nice for the winter (even just an artificial log effect, electric one would give it cosier feel). We've stayed a lot between Xmas and new year and it's never been decorated đ. We have noticed there are some cobwebs on the walls. The quilt on the bed in the master bedroom is too small for the size of the bed, meaning you have egto shuffle right into the middle of the bed, otherwise you have no quilt on the edges and a very cold bed đ„¶.Just for info, it's a very steep bank down to the cottage and can be slippy in winter, however there is a grit box. Its also very dark in the winter so you'll need to take the torch with you.
