Lealholme is a cosy, well-equipped cottage in a peaceful village, appreciated for its comfortable beds, great shower, and enclosed garden ideal for dogs. The local pub, The Sun Inn, is a highlight for its welcoming atmosphere and good food. Guests enjoy the property's proximity to Keswick and scenic walks, making it a favoured base for exploring the Lake District.
Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable. However, a few mentioned issues such as a broken and dirty blind, and dampness, which suggests room for improvement in cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its quiet village setting, proximity to a friendly local pub, and ease of access to Keswick and walking areas. The presence of farm smells and vehicles is noted but does not detract significantly from the overall positive reception of the location.
Guests generally regard the cottage as comfortable, particularly highlighting the beds and the shower. Some concerns about heating and the need for TLC suggest comfort could be enhanced.
The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the woodburner and off-street parking. However, maintenance issues like a broken blind, intermittent heating, and the need for updated furnishings affect the score.
While guests have had pleasant experiences, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

An excellent base for some winter walking.More spacious than most other two bed cottages. The bedrooms are warm and reasonably comfy- mattresses are perhaps nearing the point for replacement, but not a problem. The bathroom is good and the shower in particular. Plenty of hot water. The kitchen is very well equiped and the appliances all worked well. It's a very cold room though. The Sun Inn is less than a five minute stroll away and serves god beer and good food in a really welcoming atmosphere.Very few downsides:The central heating controller is not easy to get the hang of. One bedroom got decent size bath towels, the other got ones that would barely be adequate for a child. The drive is a bit tight for a larger car. Otherwise not much at all.Second time we have stayed here and we would definitely stay again

Almost a 5× review. On arrival the cottage was very cold and felt damp. The Info Booklet was out of date/incomplete; especially regarding C/H. Don't like faded post-it notes this needs to be improved.Once we mastered the log burner and the C/H control things improved dramatically. Good supply of logs and fire-lighting goods.Bathroom/shower excellentKitchen equipment great ( but room was very cold and had to have oven on temporarily to warm things up)Lounge and bedrooms good and comfyGreat place for dogs with enclosed garden. The Sun Inn in the village deserves a special mention. Fantastic menu, service and quality.Would recommend and return if these minor issues are resolved

Had the best Christmas break here. The cottage was warm and cosy on arriving with a fire laid ready for us and a lovely Christmas tree in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Beds super comfy and the shower is great. Nice little enclosed garden and the village green opposite perfect for our dog. Would definitely return here.
