Laal Yan is Cumbrian dialect for ’little one’, which aptly describes this charming, cosy, character cottage. It is ideally situated in a small terrace of similar cottages, a short level stroll from the town centre. It has the benefit of parking provided near the cottage. There are fell views to the front and rear and the cottage is adjacent to the River Greta. The cottage is beautifully furnished in keeping with the character of the cottage, but with the benefit of a contemporary kitchen.

Excellent accommodation: great location, spotlessly clean, good communication from Cottages.com, if we ever get the chance we would love to stay at Laal Yan again.

My main problem with Lal Yaan was that the parking instructions were vague at best. We arrived late at night in the rain and the instructions said there was a sign in a parking lot that said management company. No such sign exists. We spent an hour driving back and forth and finally gave up and parked in front, getting an earful from the neighbor the next morning. We finally walked the next day to a parking lot and saw a sign that said Lal Yaan, but it was a tourism company or something. Otherwise, the place was very good location and comfortable.
