The accommodation is quite generous in this semi-detached house, with the benefit of a large conservatory, delightful enclosed garden with lawn, patio and garden furniture, a garage to store bikes and other items in, and private parking for two cars. There are fell views from the bedrooms and garden, and the owners provide unlimited 1gb ibre Wi-Fi. It is situated in the village of Portinscale, which lies on the northern shores of Derwentwater, with numerous cafés, a marina and a pub, The Farmer’s Arms, which lies just a 3-minute walk from the property and serves bar meals and real ale. The lake can be accessed on foot from the door, with opportunities for sailing and canoeing or a trip on the launch. Heatherside is an ideal base for walking and cycling with Catbells and other fells accessible from the house. Portinscale is one mile by road from the vibrant tourist town of Keswick, or a pleasant walk across fields will take approximately 20 minutes.Shop 1 mile, pub 100 yards and restaurant 400 yards.

    Second time we have stayed here and absolutely loved it again. Portinscale is a great base for Keswick and the North Lakes. Loads of good walks straight from the door and buses run to Buttermere from just down the road. House is clean and tidy and the back garden beautiful. Garage to store bikes if needed. Only slight niggle is just 1 bin bag provided and 2 toilet rolls...wouldn't break the bank to provide a couple more of each! Apart from that, we had a wonderful stay.
