Briargarth is a well-located, dog-friendly cottage in a quiet cul-de-sac just a short walk from Keswick town centre. Guests consistently praise its proximity to amenities, secure garden, and comfortable beds. Many appreciate the off-road parking and the welcoming atmosphere. While the property is generally clean and well-equipped, some guests note areas for improvement, such as garden and gate maintenance, occasional cleaning lapses, and the need for more kitchen essentials. Thoughtful touches like welcome packs are appreciated, though not guaranteed. Overall, Briargarth offers a cosy and convenient base for exploring Keswick and the Lake District.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with several positive mentions of cleanliness and comfortable bedding. However, a few reviews highlighted issues such as dog odours, missed cleaning spots (e.g., patio doors, garden table), and occasional lapses in garden upkeep. These mixed experiences suggest generally good standards with some room for improvement.
The location is highly praised, with guests repeatedly mentioning its quiet setting, proximity to Keswick town centre, and easy access to walks, buses, and local attractions. Off-road parking is a significant bonus in an area where parking can be challenging.
Guests frequently comment on the comfort of the beds, the cosy atmosphere, and the secure garden for dogs. The efficient heating system is appreciated, especially in colder months. Some minor issues with furniture arrangement and shower doors were noted but did not detract significantly from overall comfort.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a dishwasher, washing machine, and enclosed garden. However, several guests mention maintenance issues such as garden gates, decking, and the need for more kitchen utensils. Some also noted the need for updates in certain areas and occasional problems with heating or showers.
Many guests appreciated the welcome packs and thoughtful touches like dog bowls and throws, but some found the packs minimal or inconsistent. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary between stays.

Lovely bungalow that we have visited numerous times, however as others have said, the gates desperately need attention as one gate is only secured with a plank of wood and an upside down bin! It was very difficult to open and close gates, also I was pleased I had taken tea towels as only one supplied for a two week stay, but overall a nice stay

Brilliant location for town and walks. Top marks for parking on site. Property feels tired inside and out but acceptable currently.
