Snaptrip says

Swinside Lodge in Keswick is highly praised for its excellent location, comfort, and well-equipped facilities, making it ideal for large groups. Guests enjoyed the proximity to Catbells and the lake, the comfortable bedrooms, and the spacious kitchen. While there were minor maintenance issues and some trouble with the internet and a dishwasher, the overall experience was very positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating a high standard upheld by the owners.

The location is universally acclaimed, with its proximity to Catbells and the lake being a highlight for guests, making it an exceptional spot for walkers and families alike.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the property spacious, suitable for large parties and offering a homely feel. The only minor detraction was a mention of a wobbly leg on a sofa.

The facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, points are deducted for reported issues with a dishwasher, an Aga that took time to heat up, and some showers with low water pressure.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

It's location was also hard to beat, being placed right at the foot of Catbells. We are a walking party of 12 that have been renting such properties for the past 25 years. We had few complaints, but as is often the case with such a large houses, there were a few "niggles" that need attention. We do our own catering and the Aga took a couple of days to reach temperature. This was a real pain for the chefs. The showers needed pumps and several were just a trickle, much of the time. The 4g provided Internet and supporting internal network was intermittent, to say the least! It disappeared completely for the last 3 days. There is some mobile reception on the top floor, but the solution needs a reliable multi-Sim upgrade or satellite solution, to match the premium price paid. Overall though we would definitely return. Many thanks.

The house is beautiful! So well styled, maintained and equipped. The photos don't do it enough justice - it's absolutely stunning and perfect for large parties. We took full advantage of the beautiful surroundings and took to the local walks. The kitchen and dining area were fabulous and the bedrooms were superb. We had an absolutely fabulous weekend - thank you so much!

I would certainly consider staying again. Only three minor issues already shared with the owners.
