Resting in tranquil private grounds on the outskirts of Keswick town, is this charming duplex apartment. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. The property is very large, comfortable and with all the amenities needed for a vacation in The Lakes. It is well positioned with Keswick only a short drive away and there is good access to the coast and fell walks.

The rooms were spacious and elegant, and had lovely big windows - 12 ft high on the upper floor, I am guessing - so it was full of light. We enjoyed walking in the beautiful grounds. The kitchen was particularly well-equipped. Our bed was very comfortable - excellent mattress. A couple of minor "picky" points: We would have liked to have been able to drive the car round the house nearer to the back door for unloading and loading the car, instead of having to make a a lot of trips round the house. Parking in slot 2 afterwards would have been fine. Similarly, it would have been nice to have the dustbin with the others just outside the back door, and not to have to carry it all the way round the house. And a soap dish or little shelf for soap/shampoo would have been the icing on the cake in the very nice shower.
