For outdoor enthusiasts, there are plenty of adventure activity providers offering mountain biking, sailing, climbing and ghyll scrambling to name a few. Hillwalkers have easy access to the surrounding fells, with the Skiddaw and Blencathra ranges both within 7 miles. For a gentler walk, a stroll around the shoreline of Derwentwater or along the River Derwent is a lovely way to pass the time. For a day trip, travel 25 miles to the Solway Coast for beautiful coastal walks, and lovely pebble and sandy beaches just perfect for a picnic and a paddle. End the day with an evening of entertainment at the Theatre By The Lake. The large dining table seats eight for hearty breakfasts and sociable, evening meals where you can discuss the day's activities. The utility room has a large fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, and the separate WC has plenty of storage space for all those muddy boots.
