Benefitting from all ground-floor accommodation, close access to local amenities and boasting an ideal setting within the Lake District National Park, Bethby Beck welcomes two guests to relish the ultimate retreat in Cumbria. Cross the threshold into your new abode, ready to kick back and relax in the plush sitting area, clicking on the TV to your favourite show after a long day of traversing your surroundings. Rustle up a tasty dish in the well-equipped kitchen, before settling down and popping open a bottle of fizz; if the weather permits, make use of the shared rear garden to delight in an alfresco affair with the pretty views as your backdrop. When you begin to feel sleepy, retreat to the shower room to wash away the day and complete your evening routine, before climbing into the sumptuous super-king-size bed (can be twins on request), catching your beauty sleep ahead of another exciting day. Head out down the road to the popular Pheasant Inn, where you can treat yourself to a meal out and enjoy a selection of ales. Venture further into the centre of Keswick, home to the Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place, Keswick Museum and the weekly local market where you can enjoy a fun-filled day out, before heading to one of several charming pubs or restaurants to refuel with a hearty lunch and cold beverage. Attend one of several live and free cricket or football matches also available each weekend at Fitz Park. If you're seeking a relaxing activity, visit Hope Park and stroll through the flower gardens, home to a range of flora and fauna; or for a taste of competitiveness, why not try out the mini golf course that can be found here too? You can also make the most of watersporting opportunities nearby, with Derwentwater residing only a short distance from your doorstep. Further afield, uncover the delights of Lodore Falls, Ashness Bridge and Surprise View, a stunning vantage point where you can soak in magnificent views of the lakes and rolling countryside. If you’re seeking a more challenging venture, why not attempt to summit Skiddaw, Scafell Pike or Helvellyn, three fabulous peaks that truly showcase the unspoilt beauty of Lake District National Park; or for a less demanding activity, follow the K2T path from Keswick to Threlkeld, crossing the Greta River. Close by you’ll also find Aira Force Waterfall, Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens and Lowther Castle and Gardens, all promising a great day out. However you choose to fill your days here in Cumbria, do it from the romantic dwelling of Bethby Beck.
