The Mountain festival which is held annually, usually in May or June, holds three days of world class sports, lots of outdoor activities, talks, films and live music events which take place beside the lake. The town centre with its independent shops is within walking distance and Fitz Park is directly opposite the apartment, with it's sensory garden and rose walkway. It also has clear views onto the Skiddaw range; as well as a cricket pavilion, bowling greens and a fantastic children's playground as well as tennis courts and a putting green.
