Named for the numerous hares which live on the farmland, Lepus Lodge offers the opportunity to experience nature close at hand, yet is just a short drive from historic Lincoln with its towering cathedral, castle and a wide range of shops, and the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.
Lepus Lodge is situated adjacent to the county showground and within 3 miles of RAF Scampton, home of the famous Red Arrows display team. Doddington Hall, Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest, Hemswell Antique Centres and the coast are all in easy reach. Use of a tennis court and easy walking. Shop 3 miles. Pub 2½ miles.

Lepus lodge is perfectly positioned on an arable farm for those who want to explore Lincoln city and surrounding areas but don’t want to stay in the city. There is a second lodge but spacing gives privacy. Exploring the local area during the day and back to the sanctuary of the lodge with everything you need and more provides perfect balance. The view from the porch over arable farmland of meadows and wheat fields is so relaxing to wake up to in the morning and unwind at the end of the busy tourist day! The bed was comfy, hot water great for showers and a roll top bath to relax and soothe those achy legs that have walked the city. Dambusters Inn at Scrampton served good food and drinks. The history of the theme of Dambusters perfect! Pyewipe Inn also a good local not too far, though a car is needed for both. The wood lodge has comfy sofa’s, fully equipped kitchen and very good WiFi. We took an electric bbq and cooked on the porch it was so nice (farmland so gas or coal bbq shouldn’t be used). The patio furniture allows for great outdoor space time. Peaceful, quiet and comfortable with the odd Hare sprinting and birdlife to view. We spent long evenings on the porch before retiring to watch TV and bed. Silence of the night is perfect, no sounds just wrapped inside the log cabin is peace itself. If I had one thing to improve, it would be that the lodge requires a deeper clean, than that on the surface. Dust and cobwebs are probably a result of being on farmland and visible dog hair, a result of dogs are allowed to stay, is a factor that we feel has contributed. We don’t have pets so this is something we did notice. Please don’t let this put you off, we did have a perfect stay and this is the only negative. Loved our time at Lepus lodge and would recommend. Nice comfortable lodge. Everything supplied for self catering holiday . Lovely bathroom with either a walk in shower or roll top bath, always plenty of hot water . Well equipped kitchen with all items required to cook meals. Washing machine and dishwasher in small utility area. Site is adults only and has another lodge next to it but far enough away for privacy, site also is a caravan and motorhome club site with around 10 or so pithes, but these are far enough away .Site is well maintained by the owners very clean and tidy .Location is next to the Lincolnshire showground which if there is an event may be to check the lincolnshire shiwground site for events then youll have prior notice . When no event is on a very peaceful friendly site , owners helpful and some nice walks in the countryside on public footpaths through farm fields. Short drive from Lincoln where all amenities available.

A lovely cottage in an excellent location. Would highly recommend it for a visit to Lincoln and Lincolnshire, and ideally situated for this.
