Set alongside a fishing lake, and with its own private hot tub, this beautiful lodge is on a quiet park, with a golf course next to it, which has a bar and restaurant. The lodge has two ground floor bedrooms, and the living room has a mezzanine with a double sofa bed for a further two guests. Lincoln is close by with its cathedral, castle and the Magna Carta visitor centre, which are all worth visiting. There are many shops, bars and good restaurants to be found in the Bailgate area. Newark Showground, which is famous for its huge International Antiques and Collectors Fairs, as well as many other events, is a 10 minute drive. Lincolnshire Showground is about a 15 minute drive away. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Me and my family had a 3 night stay at Campbell Lodge, which overall was very pleasant. The lodge was stunning and spacious, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean with sufficient amounts of towels, the kitchen had a fridge/freezer/hob/oven/dishwasher, there was a utility room, the hot tub was lovely to spend time in and cleaned each day.A couple of things let down the overall experience. We arrived at around 2.15pm, which we understood was too early but were happy to wait until 3pm. However, we then didn’t get into the lodge until 4pm as it turned out there’d been a mix up and our lodge hadn’t been cleaned that day. When we then accessed the lodge, the walk in wardrobe in the main bedroom was filthy and couldn’t be used. Not wanting to delay things any further, we made do. The staff were very polite and apologetic throughout our wait which was much appreciated.The lodge lacked any welcoming touches; a pint of milk, bottled water, locally sourced treats always go a long way to feeling welcomed on these kind of holidays.The frying pan was too scratched to use and there was no tin foil provided to protect the oven pans.Overall though, we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely come again. Thank you for a wonderful few days!
