About this property

This contemporary and spacious home sits in a tranquil position in the village of Holmesfield, close to the market town of Dronfield and is a fantastic base for a walking holiday. Set over two floors and backing onto picturesque fields, Glenhurst provides a luscious escape for large families of all ages, whether you are looking to escape

the normalities of everyday life or just out to explore Derbyshire. Upon arrival you are greeted by ample off-road parking spaces, so there’s plenty of room for the family cars. Step inside and wander through to the large, open-plan living space which is uplifted by natural light from the window panels and bi-fold doors. Allow the head chef to get comfortable in the kitchen, equipped with an electric double oven, 6-ring hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so you’ll have everything required for home-cooking. Gather at the dining table and cheers to a much-needed family escape, before retreating to the sofa and alluring woodburning stove. Alternatively, take the evening outside and enjoy a moment on the balcony, gazing across the garden and towards the fields. There's also a handy utility with a washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for freshening up your wardrobe! When it comes to catching your rest, choose between five neatly presented bedrooms; on the first floor lies two doubles which enjoy lavish en-suite facilities, and a further two doubles (one with two twin beds), whilst there is also a ground-floor sofa bed that can be made into a double bed that is ideal for those with limited mobility. Start the morning with a shower or soak in the family bathroom, before popping on your walking boots and heading out to explore the local countryside. There are four pubs within walking distance which have been loved by the locals for many years. From your doorstep, stroll into the centre of Holmesfield where you can find the Angel Inn and Rutland Arms, ideal for treating your loved ones to some hearty fare on the days you don't feel like cooking! Head into the market town of Dronfield, which has great historical significance and the Grade I listed Church of St John the Baptist is testament to this as it has stood at the centre of this community since the 12th century. Further afield, the scenic trails and cycle routes of the Peak District await, including many fascinating caverns, imposing peaks and listed buildings. Treat the family to a memorable stay at Glenhurst.

The market town of Dronfield in Derbyshire has a history that predates the Domesday Book and features some still-standing structures from the 12th century. The town is bordered by beautiful Peak District countryside with trails begging to be explored, as well as a variety of stores, bars, restaurants, and a contemporary sports centre. Dronfield lies near Chesterfield, a historic town known for its renowned crooked spire of St. Mary and All Saints Church, which is located close to the Peak District National Park and the city of Sheffield. The striking Damflask, Agden, Dale Dike, and Ladybower dams make for an interesting afternoon stroll, and the charming village of Hathersage—said to have served as the model for Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre—is also close by and has a variety of shops, pubs, and hospitable restaurants as well as an outdoor lido. Stately homes like Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall are just a few of the many to see; the rest of the Peak District and the ancient town of Bakewell are also easily accessible.

! The views are stunning, Adam and Chiaki (the owners) could not do enough for us - they were super communicative and they made me feel very looked after! The house is perfect for a getaway with friends and family - the shared living space is perfect to spend time with loved ones and the kitchen is super functional and has all the amenities and more! I’m already thinking about when to come next!!!

The children were very impressed with the range of toys which kept them occupied during the rain showers and inclement weather.

We chose it for the ample private parking, the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge and the private bathroom/ensuites for each double bedroom. It did not disappoint. The kitchen had everything we needed and the countryside views from the dining table were breathtaking. The huge selection of toys was a lovely touch and kept the children entertained for hours. The house was well located for day trips out in the Peak District and the local pub served delicious meals. The owners were very attentive and emailed lots of useful information prior to our stay. Thanks again.
