Enjoying a superb location within easy reach of the local amenities and access to the popular destinations of Matlock, Matlock Bath and Cromford, 16 Long Row is a fabulous choice for couples or a family of four. The property enjoys on-street parking, a neat front garden, and a generous rear, enclosed garden with furniture, perfect for dining alfresco on warmer days. Completing the ground floor is a well-appointed bathroom where you can freshen up with your choice of bath or shower at the end of the day. On the first floor, you will find a beautifully presented double bedroom, featuring exposed brick, beams, and original floorboards. The final bedroom can be found on the second-floor, a four-poster king-size, which echoes the décor of the double and enjoys views of the garden. Explore the town, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at The Elaichi, Nourish at No.44, and Nonno’s, stock up on essentials at the convenience store, wander the picturesque Belper River Gardens, hook your catch of the day with the Belper & District Angling Club, spot the local wildlife at Wyver Lane Nature Reserve, or visit the historic Heage Windmill on the outskirts of town. Make your way over to Matlock, where you can picnic in Hall Leys Park, hop aboard the Peak Railway for a scenic ride, visit the Lumsdale Waterfall, or venture up to the nearby Heights of Abraham, where you can tour the depths of the Great Rutland Cavern. Matlock Bath is just a little further, where the whole family can enjoy a day out at Guliver’s Kingdom and Matlock Bath Aquarium, there is also the Peak District Mining Museum and idyllic Derwent Gardens too! Further afield, you can venture into the Peak District National Park, where you’ll find Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House, and Pilsbury Castle. Adventure awaits at 16 Long Row.

Located in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site, the town of Belper boasts a rich and illustrious history that dates back to the 13th century, when it was known as Beaurepaire (beautiful retreat). There are many exciting places to visit in this town now, such as the North Mill, Long Row, and the River Gardens. The town has an annual Arts festival in May, as well as seasonal food festivals in the winter and summer, and a monthly Farmers Market, all of which contribute to the thriving local music and arts scene. Wirksworth, a nearby mediaeval village, hosts an annual Art and Architecture tour and Arts Festival in September. Matlock, a popular Peak District town, and its neighbour, Matlock Bath, are located in the picturesque, wooded gorge of the River Derwent and are only 10 miles distant. Shops, taverns, and restaurants abound in the Matlocks, and there are many other fun things to do there as well. The cable car rides up to the Heights of Abraham is fun for the whole family, and the view down the canyon is spectacular. The High Peak Cycle Trail begins just south of town, and both Bakewell and Chatsworth House are well worth a visit to the north. Belper, a town that has won numerous awards, is a fantastic home base for seeing all that Derbyshire has to offer.

Everything you would need was there. Having 2 holiday cottages for over 19 years I would say a folder with information regarding emergency numbers. Hospital, doctors, dentists, nearest supermarket’s. Also regarding leaving the property. Where they would like towels & used bedding left is always useful. A comments book as well.

Two sets of keys would also be useful. Landlady was very nice. Fresh linens/towels weekly. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

We enjoyed our stay so much we didn’t want to leave. Will be very keen to return. Belper is such a lovely town, with beautiful buildings and an excellent variety of shops and 2 grass play parks. The house had everything we needed and was so cosy that we quickly felt at home. We will very much look forward to returning. Many thanks
