About this property

Middleton-in-Teesdale 5 miles. A semi-detached former coaching house, located on a country estate just five miles from Middleton-in-Teesdale. This lovely three bedroom holiday cottage provides excellent accommodation in a location very much away from it all amongst beautiful rolling countryside. The spacious dining kitchen is well-equipped and practical with a large dining table, perfect for enjoying a sumptuous meal and talking about the day’s activities. Double doors lead through to a delightful sitting room which is tastefully furnished and contains a cosy woodburning stove. A useful utility area with separate shower cubicle, a storeroom ideal for bikes and a separate cloakroom complete the ground floor layout. From the sitting room the staircase leads to the first floor and the three well laid out bedrooms. The master bedroom has excellent views which can be enjoyed from the comfort of the king-size bed whilst having a morning cuppa. The second double provides an attractive space and the third bedroom is a useful twin room with an additional pull-out single bed. The first floor is completed with a lovely bathroom with attractive fixtures. An extensive walking area with many footpaths leads in most directions across the moors and estate to the nearby reservoir with its abundance of wildlife. Close by, the bustling village of Middleton-in-Teesdale provides excellent facilities including country inns, old curiosity shops and an array of cafés and tea rooms. Discover the old world charm of Barnard Castle whilst wandering the cobbled streets and browsing the antique shops, galleries and museums. Other attractions in the area include beautiful Raby Castle, Eggleston Hall and the Bowes Museum. This spacious cottage is in an ideal location for discovering the northern Dales yet is within an easy drive of historic Durham city, with its magnificent cathedral above the River Wear. This is a great place to escape to the country.

The pretty Pennine village of Middleton-In-Teesdale lies in the heart of Teesdale, perched on the riverbank in the beautiful Tees Valley. Situated in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', this is a well-served little settlement and offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. For more specialist amenities, the market town of Barnard Castle is within easy driving distance and provides everything a visitor could possibly need.
