About this property

This modern thatched cottage is nestled in West Lulworth just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful Lulworth Cove on the Dorset Coast. It is perfect for a romantic retreat or a small family.

After a day of walking and exploring the coast the inglenook fireplace is perfect to light to warm up and relax while enjoying an evening drink whilst snuggling up on the sofa. The contemporary kitchen is ideal for preparing wonderful meals which can be enjoyed in the dining room by the fire. There is one en-suite bedroom on the ground floor and a further en-wuite bedroom on the Upper floor.

Little Forge benefits from a contemporary bright interior with pale wood flooring and modern furnishings. West Lulworth is the ideal village to visit to enjoy a traditional Dorset holiday. You will pass local pubs and restaurants, ideally located for a spot of lunch while walking to Lulworth Cove beach from Little Forge. Why not pop into the ice-cream shop or seafood shack (all seasonal) for an on the move treat? The beach is perfect for enjoying the sun and coastal views, you could take a Jurassic Kayak Tour whilst on holiday; depending on the day you may see birds of prey, jelly fish and be shown rock side pools and fossils. There are many options for both coastal or country walks, or a combination of the two, as walking in this area is wonderful with the stunning views. Nearby visitor attractions include Monkey World and The Tank Museum both which are acclaimed and worth a visit if you are looking for day out.

Returning after an adventurous day out enjoy eating alfresco on the rear patio in the summer or have a glass of something warming cosying up on the sofa in the winter.

Little Forge and Forge Cottage are sister adjoining properties. Forge Cottage Property ID:994203.

West Lulworth boasts the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coast line and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK is Durdle Door. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit side by side at the heart of this area and really are a must visit. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beach side shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.

It is well maintained and even provide additional items that you normally don't get like dish clothes tea towels etc.

The cottage is in a good location, comfortable and generally warm although the heating does not come on until 5pm and you have no control over the boiler - we needed to light the stove on returning home at 4pm as little chilly The downstairs bedroom although spacious and comfortable is overlooked as it is the thoroughfare for the cottage you are attached to - the windows are casement- only one opens -a bit of a security risk if you do open it and has no stay on it and is constantly being blown wide open by the wind The dining area is just a small round table in corner of lounge and a bit cramped Parking bit difficult due to depth of gravel and position of spaces It would be nice to have been provided with a dishcloth - there is a brush but no cloths for wiping surfaces
