Set in the peaceful village of Torcross, At The Beach offers a relaxing holiday destination while still having plenty in the local area to keep you entertained.
Apartment 3, named Waters Edge, is a stunning ground floor apartment literally right at the edge of the sea. It opens out directly on to a private beachside terrace where you can dine al fresco and enjoy panoramic 180 degree views across Start Bay. A cot and high chair can be provided for our younger guests. The apartment benefits from allocated parking for one car.
The apartments are situated at the end of a 3 mile shingle beach where you will also find a cosy pub and cafes. The freshwater Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is also close by and is perfect for spotting wildlife and birdwatching.
Torcross was made famous as the training ground for US Army forces preparing for the D-Day invasion in World War II. An American Sherman tank which was lost at sea in 1944 and recovered in 1984, and memorials, stand beside the visitor parking lot as a reminder of the lives that were lost.
Dartmouth and Salcombe are a short drive away, and both offer a choice of fine restaurants, cafes, bars, unique shops and attractions.

...the apartment was amazing, only meters from the sea. The apartment was also of a very high standard, although the main bedroom was really small,and my husband kept banging his leg when trying to get past the bed into the ensuite shower room. Also there was no storage at all in the shower room - not even a shelf anywhere, so toiletries had to be kept in the bedroom, which was not ideal. This is just a minor gripe however, as everything was very comfortable and beautifully clean. We had a lovely stay, and the weather was a very unexpected bonus. ...tastefully designed apartment. With all top spec facilities including a jacuzzi and a private patio accessible from lounge or bedroom 2. Minimalist design made for easy cleaning. On the actual beach so suitable for families wanting water activities or people like us wanting lovely views and "chill out" facilities. Shop and pub with Restaurant and take away. FANTASTIC. ...grill element in the oven. It has come away from its bearings at the front and made grilling difficult. This does need attention please as we are back into this flat in August and do use the grill. Also the grill pan was very burnt and we needed to use foil on it which was not supplied.Otherwise no problems. Submitted by Helen on 24/05/2014
